Last Friday was the start of our long-awaited "Waving the West" journey and all went well except for one thing: I wasn't there.
Remember that line about God laughing when you make plans?
I contracted Covid (again) but thankfully, my capable co-leader Jan Seward, set off to rally the group and boldly lead the way.
Thank goodness for the Infinity Wave because if ever there was a test of flexibility for me, this was it: while it was heartbreaking for me to let Jan and the travelers down, I surrendered to the rearranging landscape.
The good news is that everyone is having a wonderful time in Sedona and I'm recovering faster than I thought possible, hoping to join them soon!
All this leads me to this month's focus, Adventure.
You might be wondering how that fits into our other monthly themes...
When I realized that I could view this change of plans not as robbing me of my adventure but as an opportunity to be part of it in a different way, it up-shifted my entire mood.
It was a step out of being victimized by my illness into being empowered to explore how I could participate and add value from a distance. That's been an adventure in itself!
How does this apply to us all?
For the last 2 years, we've been at the mercy of a changing planet - changing rules and regulations, changing social dynamics, changing climate, etc., etc. The result of all this macro change has been to rob us of our personal autonomy because we're always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Bu that's no way to really LIVE.
An adventurous attitude is one of the key ways we can begin to reclaim our wondrous lives.
Even without a literal adventure like the Southwest trip, life is full of opportunities to experience life to the utmost, as Eleanor Roosevelt said.
She also famously said, "Do something every day that scares you."
This month we're going to strap on our virtual hiking shoes and inhabit the heart of an explorer in order to reassert our right to a truly exciting and fulfilling life!
I'm going to leave it at this for now:
Much love and Infinite blessings,
