Finding Faith

Greetings, Luminous One!

I wanted to make sure to wish you a happy May Day, also known in the Celtic tradition as Beltane.

Beltane means "bright fire" and traditionally occurs on the first full moon approximately 6 weeks from the Spring Equinox, usually around May 1st. It signifies the beginning of summer and in bygone days was celebrated by building an enormous community bonfire to appeal to the Sun, Earth, and Elements to bless the fertility of crops and livestock. A fair amount of revelry for having made it through another winter was involved as well... :)

This ties beautifully into our new monthly theme, Faith. For eons, humanity has devised ways to honor the unseen "gods" with the Faith that their protestations would bring them favor.

There's a lot to unpack here and we'll only scratch the surface, but let's start with one major reason that Faith is extremely relevant these days: it may be the only antidote to living in an Age of Confusion.

Maybe confusion has always been present, but it's certainly more obvious now than it's ever been in my lifetime.

So, when it's nearly impossible to discern what's true in the external world, what can we hang onto for guiding principles? For me, the answer has always been to move to the internal world for answers.

Faith is a decision to believe in something beyond our literal view...

But Faith can be tricky. It can give us the strength to stand against an army, but can also make us rigidly blind to other viewpoints.

How can we find the right variety and amount of Faith to enhance our lives?

Let's explore these questions this month.

Much love and infinite blessings,

-Hope
